”・・・あの子が帰ってきたみたいです。”と喜んでくださった時、私たちは困難だったプロセスも忘れ、嬉しく、生きがいを感じます。
羊毛フェルトは手芸の一つに見られがちですが、動物ポートレート制作はその領域をはるかに超えた”羊毛彫刻”であり、作るだけでも難しい上、
”似せて作る”には高い技術が必要です。
私達はこれまで多くの動物ポートレートを作ってきましたがいくら技術を磨いても”本物の生きものの可愛さ”には到底叶わない事を知っています。
それでも可愛さの再現への挑戦を辞めないのは、写真の中の動物たちの”命”が輝いていて何かを語りかけてくるように思えるから。
依頼者と動物達の一緒に過ごした楽しく、優しく、切なく深い日常の断片をカタチに残すお手伝いができたら、その一心で創作を続けています。
タミーズは、2016年、武蔵野美術大学卒3人の作家ファミリーが立ち上げました。制作の中心は蔦谷ひろみが担当していますが3人で技術的な
意見交換をすることでより完成度の高い作品になっていきます。
