 Story

”そっくりです。あの子が帰ってきたみたいです。”と喜んでくださった時、私たちは困難だったプロセスも忘れ、嬉しく、生きがいを感じます。
羊毛フェルトは手芸の一つに見られがちですが、動物ポートレート制作はその領域をはるかに超えた
羊毛彫刻であり、しかも似せて作るのは特殊技能が必要です。

私は今まで、沢山の動物ポートレートを作ってきましたがいくら技術を磨いても本物の可愛さを作品が越えること永久にない思っています。
それほど”命”って輝いていてかけがえのない特別なものなんだなと思います。

なのにこのお仕事を続けているのは、依頼者とその方の子の一緒に過ごした楽しく、優しく、切なく深い日常の断片をカタチに残すお手伝いができたら、その一心です。

​タミーズは、武蔵野美術大学卒3人の作家ファミリーが立ち上げました。制作は主に次女（蔦谷ひろみ）が担当していますがそれぞれの技術的アドバイスでより完成度の高い作品になっていきます。

“It looks just like him. It's like that child has come back.” We forget about the difficult process and feel happy and fulfilled.
Wool felt is often seen as a handicraft, but animal portrait making goes far beyond that.
It is a wool sculpture and requires special skills to make them look like each other.

I have made many animal portraits.
No matter how much I hone my skills, I believe that my work will never surpass the cuteness of the real thing.
I believe that “life” is such a shining, irreplaceable, and special thing.

The only reason I continue to do this work is because I want to help preserve in a form the joyful, tender, and sad fragments of daily life that the client and his/her pets  spent together.

Tammys was established by a family of three artists who graduated from Musashino Art University. Hiromi Tsutatani is mainly in charge of the production, but others technical advices always help to make the work more complete.
